try to spice up the background u can make the gradient but without being diagnol, for example um red on left side and blue on right side and a white penguin right in the middle and u can put stars on him.

not two, look at your colors on color box which is probably on the bottom right corner, click on the first color change it to your wishings, click on the secondary color(the one that is GETTING over lapted) and make that one to your wishings, the second one turns out as background and first is the ray of gradient over the background.(secondary is not a background in most occasions)
